Kelly Mai, Photojournalism

I chose Lindsay Smith to interview because I have heard that she’s involved in several extracurricular activities. Lindsay Smith is currently co-president of French Club and is partaking in the Scholar’s Bowl. – Kelly Mai

Q: How long have you been preparing for the Scholars Bowl?

Smith: I have done Scholars Bowl since middle school, and we have practice Monday through Thursday for most of fall and winter.

Q: What do you love about competing against other schools?

Smith: I’m a competitive person, I guess, so I like the atmosphere surrounding competitions. Also, we have a supportive team and good coaches.

Q: Not only you are in the Scholar’s Bowl, but you are also co-president of the French Club. What activities are there in French Club?

Smith: We try to focus more on the cultural aspects of French and France that we don’t have time to learn about in French class. Mainly, we play a lot of games and do fun activities like in our last Halloween meeting.

Q: About our next speaker, who is he, and where is he from?

Smith: Our next speaking is going to be talking about Haiti and the situation there. Hurricane Matthew has seriously damaged the already struggling country.

Q: What can we do for those who were affected by Hurricane Matthew?

Smith: Our French Club is looking to organize a fundraiser or a school supply drive to help the children in Haiti. More details are coming soon!

Q: When is the next French Club meeting?

Smith: Our next meeting will be at the end of November, and then we’ll finish the semester with a Christmas party in December.

Q: What are some upcoming events that are occurring for French Club?

Smith: We will have the speaker on Haiti in November, a Christmas party in December and some French movies along with other activities next semester.
