Getting to know Austin Mernagh

This weekend I interviewed Austin Mernagh as he began his indoor track season. Austin takes this indoor season to get stronger and faster for the track and field outdoor season in the spring.
Q: What is indoor track and field?
Austin Mernagh: Track and field that is indoors.
Q: What makes indoor different from outdoor track?
Austin Mernagh: It’s indoors and the track is 200m rather than 400m.
Q: What events do you do in indoor?
Austin Mernagh: High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, 60m dash, and the 200m dash.
Q: what indoor meets will you be going to this season?
Austin Mernagh: Hoping to go to at least 3 meets. Probably at WSU, K-state, and Pitt State.
Q: What training do you do?
Austin Mernagh: I work a lot on speed development with speed endurance and foot speed along with plyometric.
Q: What are your goals for this indoor season?
Austin Mernagh: My goals are to get better marks than last year and get more reps in.
Q: What are your goals for the upcoming outdoor season?
Austin Mernagh: My goals for outdoor is to place in all my events at the state meet and hopefully have a podium finish as a team.
