Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Peck
March 27, 2017
Class: Drawing 1
Teacher: Mrs. Peck
What they’re doing: The students are learning how to make a realistic drawing with colored pencils. It teaches them how they can use colored pencils to make amazing drawings.
Mrs. Peck says: “They’re learning how to create dimensionality from a flat surface and create the allusion of dimension by using value.”
Joseph Holthusen says: “I’ve never done anything like this I would always just fill in stuff as I went, but now you just have to take your time really layer stuff and make it look more realistic than you would normally.”
Luke Johnson says: “Drawing is fun and it’s fun to make them look realistic.”
Adam Birch wrap-up: I think that this assignment was cool because it was amazing to see what people could do with colored pencils. Most of them look exactly like the picture they were using as a reference.
