Chemistry helps boys baseball stay hot; team knocks off Liberal

The Bishop Carroll boys baseball team has been very successful this year, losing only one game so far.

“We have really good chemistry together as a team,” said junior Tyler Alverson.

Chemistry seems to be a huge cause for the team’s triumph.

RJ Lara explained, “Our team chemistry is great. Most of us have been playing together for a long time and we’re more than just teammates.”

The team’s most recent success was a 4-1 victory over Liberal on Wednesday night at Maize High.

When warming up for the game, it was easy for the crowd to see that all of the boys were putting on their game faces. Maize scored its first and only run in the top of the first inning, but by the second inning, the Eagles managed to tie it up.

The first run scored for BC came when junior AJ Peters ran home on a wild pitch during Trey Kobler’s  at bat. From this point on BC showed no mercy.

“Pitching and defense and a great group of guys who all know what we’re going to accomplish together,” coach Charlie Ebright said.
