Homecoming Week: Pep Rally Boys Dance Preview
October 5, 2017
Homecoming week is filled to the brim with amusing and entertaining events. One that is especially fun to look forward to is the debut of the football boys getting to show their dancing skills to the student body at the Homecoming pep rally. The dance is taught to them by the Pom Squad and they have been practicing the past couple of weeks. This year’s seniors participating in the dance routine include Braden Howell, Rodney Steven, Joe Rohleder, Logan Hall, Tyler Knolla, Zach Roth, Ben Berenson, Kevin Kelly, Riggs Robben, and Isaiah Carter.
The boys were not expecting this to be as challenging as it turned out to be. Learning the dance requires skill, focus, and elegance. But, the boys have come a long way with their skills.
Bishop Carroll quarterback Braden Howell said, “It was definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be learning the dance in the beginning, but after having a few more practices we have all come together and the dance is looking good.”
The Pom Squad and their coach have had a lot of fun seeing what our football boys can do off the field. Pom Squad Coach Stephanie Taylor has been at Carroll for seven years. She enjoys working with the boys and said, “My favorite part of the dance every year is the kick line. The guys are always excited to try it and it is very entertaining to watch.”
You will likely be more than impressed with this year’s pep rally dancers. They will be showing off some killer dance moves. Senior Rodney Steven said, “You should be expecting to see some pretty good dance moves out there. The girls may have taught us the dance, but I’m thinking that we might be looking a little better than the Pom Squad out there.”
