KAPAUN vs BC: THE HOLY WAR

‘A passion to continue the legacy’

Peter Burns, Sports Editor

Some of my first memories of coming to a Carroll game as a kid were when we played Kapaun. In grade school, the rivalry is ingrained into you at a young age. Beat Kapaun. Keep the streak alive. It’s been something I’ve dreamed of since I first started playing football.

Now that time has come. This is my senior year and it’s Kapaun week. The team has prepared its best and now it’s time to play. The seniors this year have a passion to continue the legacy. The legacy that so many before us have passed on.

I am proud to wear that BC on my chest and represent the ones that have come before me. Carroll football means a lot to us: heart, faith, and family. Friday night, we are going to make the family proud.

THE MATCH-UP

When: tonight at WSU

Records: KMC 5-0, ranked 2nd in 5A. BC 4-1, 1st in 5A

History: 24 wins in a row for BC

This year: The Holthusen-Blasi combo at WR gives BC quick-strike capability. KMC prefers to keep it on the ground more with sophomore RB Omari Elias.

Last year: In a game with five lead changes, BC used a big play on D to hold off KMC 31-28. KMC was threatening late in the game when Cade Gatchet forced a fumble, Andrew Husband recovered and BC secured another W.
